GetClipMachine vs Vizard: credits per minute vs no meter at all

Vizard is a capable AI clipping tool with a pricing model that is unusually easy to reason about: one credit equals one minute of video uploaded. That clarity is genuinely a virtue, you can predict your bill. It's also the thing that decides whether Vizard suits you.

On the numbers here. Vizard's plans and limits were read from their public pricing page on 2 September 2026, linked at the bottom. Pricing changes; verify before deciding. Since our first check Vizard has put dollar prices on the paid tiers (they were credit-block selectors before).

The two pricing models

Vizard's free tier includes 60 credits per month, which at their stated rate of "1 credit = 1 minute of video" is 60 minutes of uploads. Free exports are 720p, watermarked, capped at a 10-minute export length, with 3-day storage.

Paid tiers lift exports to 4K with no watermark and remove the export-length cap:

The yearly price is shown as "50% off" the monthly one; the credit allowance scales up from 600 a month with larger blocks available. Note the 600-minute maximum upload length on paid tiers as well as the credit cost: a source longer than ten hours cannot be uploaded at all.

GetClipMachine has no credit system. Free is 3 videos a month with a watermark; Pro is €15/month flat for unlimited videos, unlimited clips and unlimited source minutes.

Do the arithmetic on your own inputs

This is the part worth five minutes of your time before you subscribe to anything, ours included.

Credits map to input length, not output. A two-hour podcast costs 120 credits. A three-hour stream VOD costs 180. If you publish a weekly long-form show, you're spending roughly 500–700 credits a month before you produce a single clip.

If you clip short-form source material, or a handful of videos a month, a credit model may never constrain you and Vizard's free tier is more generous than ours in raw minutes. If your inputs are long: the actual use case for a clipping tool: the meter becomes the thing that decides your publishing schedule.

What Vizard does better

• Export resolution on a cheaper tier. 4K is available on Creator at $14.50/mo on annual billing; ours is Pro-only at €15.
• Social account connections. Their tiers list 1 / 6 / 20 connected social accounts. We don't publish to social platforms at all, you download and post yourself.
• A more generous free allowance for short videos. 60 minutes a month free beats 3 videos if those videos are short.
• Predictable per-minute accounting. If you need to forecast cost per video precisely for client billing, a credit model does that cleanly and a flat fee doesn't.

What's different here

• No meter. Clip a three-hour VOD every day and the invoice doesn't move.
• No export-length cap on free. Vizard caps free exports at 10 minutes; our free tier's constraint is 3 videos, not their length.
• Clips that end on complete sentences. We measured this on real output and published the numbers, see why AI clips cut mid-sentence.
• Persistent library. Vizard's free storage expires after 3 days; your clips stay in your account until you delete them.

Where we're the weaker pick

• You want built-in social scheduling and publishing.
• You need 4K at under €15/month.
• You want per-video cost attribution for client work.
• You clip short videos infrequently: a free tier with 60 minutes may cover you at no cost.

Short version

Vizard if you want an all-in-one publish-from-the-tool workflow and your source videos are short enough that per-minute credits stay cheap.
