GetClipMachine vs 2short.ai: hours of analysis vs no meter
2short.ai sells monthly hours of AI video analysis: 30 minutes free, then 5, 15 or 50 hours. GetClipMachine is flat €20/month with no meter. Where each one fits.

2short.ai does one job: you give it a YouTube link and it finds the parts worth posting as shorts. Its pricing follows from that. You buy hours of AI video analysis per month, so the meter runs on the length of what you feed it, not on how many clips come out.
Whether that suits you depends almost entirely on how many hours of source video you process in a month.
On the numbers here. 2short.ai's plans and features were read from their public site on 4 October 2026, linked at the bottom. Their pricing address showed the same content as their homepage when we read it. The page does not publish an annual billing option, a maximum video length or file size, whether files can be uploaded directly from a computer, or whether the free plan's exports are limited or watermarked. This comparison doesn't claim anything about those. Check directly if they matter to you.
The pricing, as published
2short.ai lists four plans, all shown as monthly prices:
| Plan | Price | AI analysis per month | Exports | Also listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | 30 minutes | View and export already generated clips | Full access to all features |
| Lite | $9.90/mo | 5 hours | 60 minutes of fast server-side exports | Imports from Google Drive and public URLs, no ads |
| Pro | $19.90/mo | 15 hours | Unlimited fast server-side exports | |
| Premium | $49.90/mo | 50 hours | Priority support, newest beta features |
Their feature list describes exports as 1080p with no watermark, in vertical, square and horizontal aspect ratios.
GetClipMachine has three plans:
| Plan | Price | Videos | Max length | Exports |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 3 a month | 45 minutes each | 1080p, watermarked |
| Pro | €20/mo ($20 in the Americas), or €16/mo billed yearly (€192) | Unlimited | 180 minutes and 4 GB each | 1080p, no watermark |
| Max | €45/mo ($45 in the Americas), or €36/mo billed yearly (€432) | Up to 240 hours a month | 6 hours and 4 GB each | 4K, no watermark |
Pro has no credits, no hours and no clip quota. Details are on pricing.
Do the arithmetic on your own hours
The two Pro plans cost almost the same: $19.90 against €20. The difference is what happens as your volume grows.
Fifteen hours of analysis is twenty 45-minute videos, or five 3-hour streams. If you publish one long video a week, you fit inside 2short.ai's Pro plan with room to spare, and Lite at $9.90 covers a weekly video of up to about 70 minutes, at half our price.
If you clip a daily stream, or a back catalogue, 15 hours goes in the first week and the next step is $49.90 for 50 hours. On our Pro the invoice stays at €20 whatever you upload. The general version of this sum is in what credits really cost.
Lite also meters exports: 60 minutes of fast server-side exports a month. Their page does not say what happens beyond that.
What 2short.ai does better
- A cheaper paid tier. $9.90 a month for 5 hours of analysis. We have no plan under €20, or €16 on yearly billing.
- More than one aspect ratio. Vertical, square and horizontal. We render 9:16 only.
- Brand presets. Their page lists brand logos and overlays. We have one branded layout, Framed (your logo, name, @handle and a headline above the video), and no template or overlay system.
- Editing tools. They list advanced editing and cropping options. We have no video editor: clips can be regenerated or adjusted, not edited on a timeline.
- Google Drive imports on Lite and above.
What's different here
- No meter on Pro. Unlimited videos, each up to 180 minutes and 4 GB.
- A larger free allowance for long videos. Three videos of up to 45 minutes each, against 30 minutes of analysis. Ours are watermarked.
- File uploads and more link sources on every plan. Upload a file, or paste a YouTube, Twitch VOD, Kick VOD, Vimeo or direct video link.
- 4K exports on Max. Their page lists 1080p.
- Framing that depends on the shot. Face tracking, a stacked layout for two-person shots, and gameplay or screen recordings shown whole instead of cropped.
- Captions in 99 languages, auto-detected. Their page lists 26.
- A virality score with written reasoning on every clip.
The workflow itself is covered in how to turn YouTube videos into shorts.
Where we're the weaker pick
- You process under 5 hours of video a month and would rather pay $9.90.
- You need square or horizontal clips, not only 9:16.
- You want your own overlays, or a brand preset other than our one Framed layout.
- You want to edit or crop clips by hand inside the tool.
We also don't schedule or publish to social accounts: you download the file and post it yourself. Captions come in your colours and size, but there is no caption style library (fonts, animations), and no B-roll, analytics, team seats, mobile app or API, and original uploads are kept for 30 days (finished clips are kept).
Short version
2short.ai if your monthly source video fits inside 5 or 15 hours, your source is mostly YouTube, and you want brand presets, editing tools or non-vertical formats.
GetClipMachine if your hours are high or unpredictable, your sources include files, Twitch or Kick, and you want no meter. For other pricing models, see vs Opus Clip, vs Vizard and vs Klap.
