GetClipMachine vs StreamLadder: a clip editor with AI vs AI clipping alone

StreamLadder is a clip editor, scheduler and AI clipper across three paid tiers. GetClipMachine does one of those jobs at €20/month. An honest look at both.

4 min readStreamLadder details verified 4 October 2026

StreamLadder started as a clip editor for streamers: take a Twitch clip, arrange the facecam and the gameplay in a vertical layout, post it. It has since added a scheduler, a montage maker and ClipGPT, an AI that finds clips in a whole stream.

GetClipMachine does only that last job. So this is less a like-for-like comparison than a question of which shape of tool you want.

On the numbers here. StreamLadder's plans were read from their public pricing page on 4 October 2026, linked at the bottom. It showed prices in euros to a visitor in the EU; other regions may see another currency. Their pages do not publish a maximum stream length for ClipGPT, how many languages captions cover, or which plan a watermark applies to (their own comparison page says only that watermarks are added "when you use premium features"). This page claims nothing about those.

The pricing, as published

Plan Monthly Yearly What the tier adds
Free €0 €0 Clip editor, 720p 30fps exports, 200MB uploads
Starter €15/mo €150/yr 1080p 60fps, all editor features, captions and effects, posting and scheduling
Creator €27/mo €270/yr Unlimited ClipGPT, up to 30 clips from each stream
Pro €39/mo €390/yr 4K 60fps exports, posting to X

Yearly billing is listed as "2 months free". Paid tiers come with a 7-day free trial. Several Pro items (Auto Pilot, inviting editors to a workspace) were marked "Soon" on the day we read the page.

GetClipMachine has two paid plans:

Plan Monthly Yearly What you get
Free €0 €0 3 videos a month, watermark, 1080p, videos up to 45 minutes
Pro €20/mo ($20 in the Americas) €16/mo (€192/yr) Unlimited videos, no watermark, 1080p, videos up to 180 minutes and 4 GB
Max €45/mo ($45 in the Americas) €36/mo (€432/yr) Everything in Pro, videos up to 6 hours, several brand profiles, up to 240 hours of video a month

Where the AI sits in each price list

This is the part that decides the comparison. On StreamLadder's page, ClipGPT begins on Creator at €27/month. Starter, at €15, is the manual editor plus scheduling. 4K export is on Pro at €39.

On GetClipMachine the AI clipping is the whole product, so it is on every plan, and 4K is on Max at €45. Neither tool meters AI clipping by the minute: StreamLadder lists ClipGPT as unlimited on Creator, and we have no credits or clip quota.

So for AI that goes through a full VOD, the like-for-like prices are €27 against €20, or €39 against €45 with 4K.

What StreamLadder does better

  • A real layout editor. Facecam and gameplay layout templates, plus custom layouts built from scratch. We have no manual layout editor: you cannot drag a facecam box and a gameplay box into place.
  • Stickers, emotes and effects. Twitch emotes, animated stickers and GIFs, zoom effects, music and sound effects, text to speech, word censoring and silence removal are all listed. We offer none of them.
  • Posting and scheduling. TikTok, YouTube and Instagram from Starter, with unlimited connected accounts, and X on Pro. We publish nowhere: you download the file and post it yourself.
  • A free editor for manual clips. If you already know which clip you want, their free plan turns it vertical at 720p. Ours is limited to 3 videos a month.
  • Larger uploads for AI clipping. Up to 10 GB for ClipGPT. Our limit is 4 GB.
  • More around the edges. A montage maker, an emote maker, a Twitch schedule maker, and iOS and Android apps. We have no mobile app.

What's different here

  • AI clipping at a lower price. €20 covers the AI clipping that sits on their €27 tier.
  • Links beyond Twitch and Kick. Their pricing page lists ClipGPT imports from Twitch, Kick and file upload. We also take pasted links from YouTube, Vimeo and most direct video files.
  • Framing decided per shot, with no setup. Face tracking, a stacked layout for two-person shots, and gameplay with no face on screen shown whole instead of cropped: see auto reframe to 9:16. The cost is the one above: you cannot place things by hand.
  • One branded alternative to the crop. Framed puts your logo, name and @handle at the top, the whole stream picture below and captions under it. You choose it per video, or switch a finished clip.
  • A virality score with written reasoning. ClipGPT also scores clips from 0 to 100; ours adds a sentence or two on why.
  • Captions in 99 languages, detected automatically, word by word.

Where we're the weaker pick

  • You want to place your facecam and gameplay yourself.
  • You want emotes, stickers, sound effects or any timeline editing.
  • You want scheduling and posting inside the same tool.
  • You mostly convert clips you already made on Twitch. A free editor suits that better than an AI that reads whole VODs.
  • Your recordings are over 4 GB or longer than 180 minutes.
  • You want to clip from your phone.

Short version

StreamLadder if you want to edit clips by hand, decorate them and schedule them from one place, with AI as an extra on the Creator tier.

GetClipMachine if the job is "here is last night's VOD, give me the clips" and you would rather pay €20 for that alone. See GetClipMachine for Twitch streamers, the pricing page, or GetClipMachine vs Opus Clip.
